Last Friday I put on my brand new super high heels and tottered off to the Vitalise Woman of the Year awards.

I was invited by the lovely and extremely talented young designer Lorna Syson from Lorna Syson Textiles.

We arrived nice and early at The Birmingham Metropole Hotel and after negotiating some very slippery marble floors, we made our way into a room full of stalls selling bags, make-up and other goodies.  10% of all the proceeds going to the Vitalise charity.

We felt very glamorous as we sipped champagne while looking at Christian Laboutin shoes and very expensive handbags.

After some time spent gossiping and drinking more Champagne…well it was free….we went through to the main dining area (more slippery floors) and took our seats ready for lunch, a Harvey Nichols fashion show and ultimately the awards themselves.

We had great fun chatting with some lovely people on our table which included Katie Piper, an incredibly brave young woman who won The Woman of Courage award.

All in all it was a great day and I felt very lucky to be a part of it.
